Engage-Reality

We believe in God, the creator of all things.  We believe in Jesus Christ, Savior and Redeemer, who came completely as God and completely human.  We believe in the virgin birth, in the sacrificial death, and the saving resurrection.  Faith and believing are great but, not enough; even the demons believe and shudder (James 2:19); Faith must show obedience.  Our faith must be lived-out daily.  James 2:14-17 (TNIV) says:

As Christians, our purpose is simple.  There are hundreds of books written to help us find our purpose and calling in life.  And many Christians, sadly, get suck here, "Where is my purpose?",  "What am I called to do with my life?"  Our purpose is this, are you ready...good works!  That is it!!  God has equipped his people for works of service and we are created in Christ Jesus to do good works (see Ephesians 4:12 and 2:9).  It does not say impressive works, extraordinary works, just good works.  Feeding the hungry, caring for the homeless, helping out a single mother, listening to the hurting; they are all examples of good works.  Good works are simple acts of mercy, but in reality they offer profound hope to those receiving.  Good works should never be religious obligation, God doesn't want that: "I want you to show love, not offer sacrifices.  I want you to know me more than I want burnt offerings."  Hosea 6:6 (New Living Translation) 

So this is our attempt, our examples of good works and how we love people.  This is simply doing what we feel empowered by God to do for our neighbors.  We hope this can be a challenge to you to do good works in your world; to find your own spark that will lead to a blazing passion.  We dare you!!!
